I have been out of racing for sometime but I remember when the early FS cars were being developed most had inboard shocks. Now it seems most don't. Just curious why?

The inboard shocks should have an aero advantage but that big beam is such an aero problem that the advantage is probably very small. We have used outboard shocks on the cars we have built to keep the car simple and reduce weight in the front end. There are competitive cars with both approaches.

Thanks
go with the inboards if you wanna look cool, add weight, complexity etc,
frankly i think the bj beam was a bust itself
why THEY couldn't just have a 1600 and disc brakes?
If you gotta run a beam the ball joint one is the way to go. We can change camber and reset toe in 10 minutes. There are no custom fabricated parts to get the camber you want. It's a great way to go.
