    Default Upside down photos...

How's about an IMAGE INVERTER Built into the postings? That way someone could quickly turn those uploaded pix back right side up instead of everyone having to try to look at them UPSIDE DOWN?
That would be neat. I wonder if the board software has ..or could get an 'add-on' like that.

That would be good, if possible.

Or users could just take five seconds to rotate photos before posting — as available on every phone and basic photo program on home computers.

EDIT: I was wrong about this being a fix.

Is there a way to predict how it will end up? It's correct on my end, then when posted it rotates. I have rotated 90 degrees saved original, selected from Apex and it's still wrong.

    Oh, Thanks.

    That’s a different kettle of fish indeed…

You might write KR about that.

I've had that same issue also - correctly oriented photos wind up in the wrong orientation in a post. Maybe it has something to do with the photo's aspect ratio?

Knowing nothing about site software, that seems possible, Dave.

I also wonder if it happens when any image exceeds a maximum image size, in pixels — though there again, I’m just speculating.

that's exactly why I posted the question. Seems LOTS of people have uploaded pix a couple of times and they are STILL upside down. There MUST be a reason why. Seems to me the easiest answer would be within the software of this board. Looks like it's VBulletin.. I'll see what I can find about it.

Did a Google search on this. Some claim it’s a “downloaded from iPhone issue,” but software respondents claim it’s related to versions prior to v5.

None were very confidence-building, or at least not convincingly stated as an absolutely known fix by even the manufacturer.

    This *may*
be a fix but needs testing to confirm. I am not offering to test it, Sorry, am well beyond burned-out in relying on tech “tools” that have yet to perform as well as any other tool since the first atlatl:

“When your photos exceed the max horizontal width or vertical height, vBulletin will rotate them to fit those dimensions.

For example, when you upload a portrait sized image from your mobile device and the height exceeds 1600px, then it will rotate the image sideways.”
