    Default Carrera shock replacement?

The front shocks on my Mallock 11b are Carerra 3242. My guess is they are 15-20 years old.

Last week I did a Test Day at Gateway/WWT here in St. Louis. After the second session, I noticed that my right front shock was leaking. My guess is that the oval portion of the track, with sustained static loading on the right shock caused the leak.

It seems to have stopped, but don't know how much fluid I've lost. And it's probably time to replace them regardless.

But tbh, I have no idea how to find a similar replacement set. Carrera seems to be long out of business, and QA1 (who I think bought them) seem to just do dirt track and drag shocks.

Front springs are either 200 or 225 lbs., 3" diameter. Car is 980 lbs without me in it.

Any and all suggestions are welcome and appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Steve

I sent a pic to Angelo, and he thinks the Carrera's are crimped, and cannot be rebuilt.

    He's working on Plan B.

    Default dead spot?

Is the shock off and have you stroked it. Let it sit for a while then move shaft slightly to check for no dampening.
    They are sealed, no rebuild.

Could you post the complete top yellow section of the photo? Angelo is building specs for my replacement shocks, and he is interested in that info.

    Thanks!

    Default Carrera

Carrera 1992 catalog. And once again. I scanned the catalog page and the scan was upside down. Rotated the scan 180 degrees and saved as new file. Still is upside down. PM me if you want these Emailed. And I still need to look in my pile of Carrera shocks. We put these on a 1979 Atlantic car back in the early 80's when Truesports couldn't make our Koni 8212 shocks last more than 3 events. I think I have an even older catalog without any aluminum shocks in it.

Interesting note - the scan previewed in the post is upside down, but when I click on it, the scan comes up in the larger size correctly oriented.

It's like the preview is cast in stone but the actual version got updated.
