Noticed there hasn’t been a post here in 8 years so in honor of our back to back bad weather systems here is something from AU that will make you think of spring. Watching the freezing rain make a mess herein Rochester but I've been getting texts from my buddy Brad Buenting about the weekend race at Sandown Park outside of Melbourne AU. Brad had “long-distance-supervised” the placement of his innovative DRRS rear suspension on an Australian Jacer FV (very close to our FST). And he remained in contact with the team with something like Facetime or Zoom. The meeting was at Sandown and there were three races. The driver had only raced at this very nice track one other time, but as you'll see he's a fast learner. The car is a green in front red in back Jacer #82 driven by a young man named Rocco Spinley. Brad said he worked with Rocco (Remote Race Engineering) making just a few changes and they eliminated wheel spin and improved overall balance.
So here is Sunday’s race (remember Sunday there was yesterday here.)
Race 3 can be seen here www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTBSmFPzbSQ&t=22610s
Be sure to watch the whole thing the end is everything.
Two things impressed me about the event which was the rough equivalent of our divisionals. First the TV through Blend Line and second the decent commentary. Down under is way on top of us in these areas.
