Are there any businesses out there that will accept a computer generated drawing, with dimensions (saved as PDF), and produce a .dxf drawing?

I assume you are asking to generate a dxf file from the pdf?
obviously if you have the CAD file (dwg, dgn, etc)that generated the pdf, you can export that to a dxf format file. If you only have a 2D pdf, and it is vector based (printed directly from a CAD program), it can create a 2D CAD file that can then be exported to dxf.
note that *most* pdfs are 2D only and will not generate a 3D model (for 3D printing). I have used 3D pdfs that do retain the full model geometry, but that is somewhat rare.
hope that helps

AutoCAD has a conversion tool, but it doesn't work very well. There are overseas people who will redraw it in cad for cheap. Unless it is really complex it should be possible to just redraw it fairly quickly. Not really my kind of thing but if you can't figure anything out message me a photo of it and I can give you an idea what it would cost to redraw as a native dwg/dxf
DM me and send over the PDF I'm happy to take a look at it. Should be doable.
Awww, come on guys, it's so simple. Maybe you need a refresher course. Hey! It's all ball bearings nowadays.

I was not thinking clearly in writing the initial post (Snow Birds are here, picked up a serious virus).
Although I have Corel (absolutely no clue as how to use it properly), I typically I use MS Word and insert drawing objects, fairly close to scale, insert dimensions, and save as .pdf.
What I need is a vendor (read: paid for services), whom will interpret my stick figures, and prepare a ‘true to life’ .dxf that I can forward to Send-Cut-Send for production.
My bad.

should be doable. I've done a bunch of stuff with send cut send, i've also got a plasma table in the shop but that's not as precise as send cut sends laser or the local waterjet guy i also use. If you get some a rough sketch with dimensions I should be able to draw it up

Send cut send now offers this themselves, actually.

AutoCAD here (fluent). Send me your .pdf...let me see what you have.
I'll probably be able to convert it to .dwg & .dxf...OR...I'll redraw it & send it back to you in both formats...FREE OF CHARGE !!!
I'm retired and still think this stuff is fun.

Thank you for your generous offer of support.
There is a distinct possibility I will change to a Lithium Ion battery as a function of weight, as my SBS-15 sealed lead acid battery is at least 15yo.
Let me do my homework Pally, and I sincerely thank you for the offer.
