    Default F500 fuel cell

    Hello!!
I'm very new to this and to the F500 world. So I apologize in advance for the idiotic questions I'm going to be asking.
I need a new fuel cell for my Red Devil.
All I have found that seems to be spec'd for the car is the ATL FC-140. They're a great company, I've used ATL in the past but I was just wondering if there is a Fuel Safe or other product that might be a little less expensive but of high quality too. If I have to ATL, no problem.
    Thank you!
    Dan

I assume you are road racing and not autocrossing this car?

I thought that Autocrossing was my most viable even, only option. I'd love to go road racing!!
I can get my car within the SCCA stipulations.

I highly recommend you call Pyrotect in Oregon. I’ve used them twice, awesome service. Just clean the old cell out , pull the foam out and give it a rinse , and ship the old one to them. They’ll build one to fit , and re-use the old hardware saving you some money. Can’t say enough about their service.

I'm going to be looking at Harmon Racing. Heard good things about them.

I'm not a big fan of ATL. It's overpriced and their tolerances are subpar.

Thank you very much for this tip and referral. I was only familiar with Pyrotect's helmets and other safety equipment. I didn't even know that they made cells.
    Thank you!!!

    Dan,

All Red Devils were originally built for road racing and came with custom fuel cells. You have many other options for autoX that are much less expensive. What year is your Red Devil? I have a .pdf file from Fuel Safe of the Red Devil fuel cell design that fits many years. PM me if you want the file.

I will update my response comment from your other question - you need to join the SCCA F600/FM Facebook group. It will be an invaluable source of information as you get to know your car.

Just saw your original post about your 1986 Red Devil. The plans I have will not work for your car. If you want to road race, you will likely need to have a custom cell made from your current cell. I've researched this for my newer Red Devil and can help you. PM me if you'd like to talk.

    Hello Cory,
Thank you so much for your replies. I've been looking at other fuel cells, not ATL or Fuel Safe. The SCCA did not, the way I read it, specifically state "fuel cell" but I could obviously be wrong.
I'll follow up later today or tomorrow if that works for you!
    Thank you
    Dan
