I use Valvoline Synthetic chassis grease, the same as what I lube my 50 YO Chevy van tow vehicle suspension with.

I like C.V. joint grease. It is light viscosity and contains moly.

    Default Steering Rack Grease

For all the steering racks we repair here, we use Redline CV-2. In fact, we use that to grease every bearing we see.

    Default Mess

My biggest complaint with the steering rack is that I can’t go anywhere near that end of the car without getting some of the grease on my clothing!
    thanks for the replies, folks.

And halfway decent grease, especially if it has any moly in it,will be way more than good enough.
