    Default Bobby Allison

I just thought he deserved mention on this forum. A talented, and versatile driver who was quick in anything he drove, including open wheel. He was instrumental in bringing NASCAR to the American public, unintentionally, as a participant in the famous Daytona 500 fight in 1979.

I met him and Donnie in a Trenton, NJ Diner one morning before a Trenton Speedway NASCAR race when I was about 10 years old. I remember both of them being really nice guys and taking the time to answer a bunch of probably stupid questions from a kid at 6 something in the morning.

    Default Bobby Allison

I met Mr. Allison at Pocono in the early 80's working for the Track at one of their NASCAR Races,
He came out of the Garage Area going to his pit and was the Nicest Guy in the world.
Tipped his hat to my Mom.

Not all, but some are Heroes for the right reasons.

Race in Peace to Mr. Allison. These last 31 years couldn’t have been easy.

As a kid growing up near Hueytown Al. he was one of several drivers who took time to visit young fans
I raced slot cars in the mid 60s at Red Farmer's Slot track in Bessemer . The whole Alabama Gang
came to mid week night races to run their own cars. Bobby always was interested in what we were building
from scratch vs Kits. I had a Kemtron powered AWD racer that dominated for about 3 weeks. Mentioned it to him at
event in town and it came right back to him. Sometimes your heroes turn out to be just that. R.IP.
