Default Hoosier Tire Formula First Series

The 2024 Edition of the Hoosier Tire Formula First Championship ishistory.

    The top fivefinishers were:

    1st - Rob Clark
    2nd- Gene Martindale
    3rd - Doug Seim
    4th - JustinWesterfeld
    5th - Matt Seim

Congratulations to these fine drivers and especially to Rob Clark who was great all season. Some highlights of the season. The entries are getting stronger and better. Our resource trailer which carries community spare parts saved at least 2 or 3 DNF or DNS. Now we have a spare engine in the trailer, exhaust systems, spare noses for some cars, and just about every maintenance part including a fuel cell and oil coolers and rack and pinion steering boxes.

One thing that made a big impression on me is Gene Martindale drove both an Evolution and the Silver Bullet and both cars had Brad Buenting’s dynamic rear roll stiffness (DRRS) rear suspension with Ohlins quad adjustable rear dampers. The amazing part is, for the whole season, Gene used only one set of Hoosier R60A tires including a full test day before the season. This is a real innovation.

    Default Rear suspension

I think what Robert was getting at is with Standard zero roll rear suspension the front tires wear much faster due
to all the roll resistance being in the front. The DRRS evens this out and makes the front tires last longer.

    Default 2025 Schedule

The Hoosier Tire Formula First Series for 2025 Schedule will soon beavailable in final form at www.formulafst.org. Right now we arecommitted to 5 races but we could add a 6th in May orNovember. Our series features a place for everyone from highlyskilled drivers to beginners, we control our own rules, havetechnical assistance available at the track and we even have asupport trailer that carries spare parts. This trailer cancels theneed to bring many spares to the track so you can get everything froma valve cover gasket to a Heim joint to a fuel cell to an engineright from the trailer. In fact the car that won the last race tradedtheir engine in need of refresh for one from the trailer. The sparesare vetted and good.

At present I know oftwo very fast and totally turn key cars available for next season. These cars have won races and been on the podium many times. PM mehere and I can elaborate.

Also if you areinterested in joining us in our wonderfully controlled series get intouch with me.
