    Default 92 euroswift diary

I have bought a 92 euroswift. It is set up for road racing and has the Honda conversion. I will be setting it up for autocross. I was looking at its log book and find it has done a lot of racing and been wrecked at least two times. When it was new and for about 10 years it was raced in Canada. Then it was sold to an american who raced it a lot for the next ten years. Since then it has been raced less.

I am looking forward to getting it all set up.

I appreciate all the folks here on Apexspeed who have patiently encouraged me to stick with it.

I got the car back from Keith but am still struggling with getting in and out. The frame hoop nearest pedals is tight. I ordered some minimal shoes but have not gotten them as yet. Maybe today.

so I got the first pair which was basically a sock with tread. size 9.0....thought but would not work well when out of the car. Then I ordered a set of Nike (something) sevens size 9.5. Perfect! I got the left one lifted 5/8". There is a good sole under my feet and tthey look pretty cool!

Still hoping to run at Grissom on Sunday.

    Woo Hoooo!

I have had a bumpy summer with a couple of car accidents on the street and other medical issues, so now I am planning to run Saturday and Sunday at Grissom.

I am still struggling with getting my feet in and out. I'm gonna go to my grinder and take away some sole edges.

I would love to have some new un crashed body panels on the car too, gotta go dig out the names of people who might have some or might coule sort mine.

    Default Autocross Shoes

    Hi Tom,

I know several modified autocross drivers using wrestling shoes so they can fit better in the car. They cram their foot into a slightly smaller size and the shoe has almost no sole so it is slightly smaller than most.

    Good luck,

    Craig

SPS is having a sale on Goodyear racing shoes. Some models are as cheap as $35.

you need racing shoes. I got dedicated racing shoes for my old swift FB91

for bodywork, you can try https://www.universalracingservices.com/ they should have molds for your car.
Also try swiftCooper they are the original company (bought & sold) that built the car. I worked with them to source parts. http://www.swiftcooper.com/sc92f.html

So you did not write this?

I did write that but your comment was too cryptic for this literal Architect. I thought I was being trolled.

Yes if any panels are available I would want them.

    What is a DUFF?

I have gotten a lot done since the last post here. I took it down to fayetteville tn to Michael Leveque and we did the following (actually I mostly watched).
    1. relocated the battery to the nose to open up the inside of the car.and relocated the ecu on the floor toward the rear of the car..
    2. Extended the fuel fill up so the lid comes out and can be refueled with the rear cover on.
    3. Repaired the body work and changed the nose just a bit and the rear cover a bit.
    4. sanded and prepped the fiberglass.
    5. Painted it a lovely shiny black. It looks grand and siniister.

    Thanks Michael!

We took the car to an event at Grissom and ran. My young engineer/ Purdue student Jack drove it and did a nice job.

I plan to trim the pedals a bit more to make space in the footwell. I just want to be able to operate one pedal at a time and if possible make room to left foot brake.

So we're still fettling it over and plan to run on Sunday at Walesboro.

    Woo hooo!

Then a couple weeks ago we went to run at the fort wayne purdue campus. I got in and attempted a run. It turns out althouigh in it I was so tight against my elbows and shoulders I could not stand the pain. Jack though who is 6 2 and slim fits fine. So the car is long and narrow inside. Jack got im all six runs.

So I'll put it up for sale and keep running it in the mean time.

When i have time i'll put up details. I'll be looking just to get most of my money back so I can get into something I can get into.

I also had Keith do aluminum calipers, aluminum diff carrier and replaced all my master cylinders.

I have quite a few spares and the body has been repaired by an expert, Michael Leveque. and painted sleek black. We also extended the gas filler so it can be fueled without taking off the back body work and other things. It looks tip top.

    $30,000 obo.

I have a load of pictures on my phone so I'll get them here asap.
