2024 Runoffs at Road America

To date we have seven entries for the 2024 Runoffs at Road America. Single paddock space reservations open on August 21 so additional entries will likely be known shortly thereafter. Every entry is important as class participation averages include Runoffs, not just HST and Major's events. A strong early entry list may help to encourage those who are otherwise on the fence to commit.

Am I missing something here? I am confused. We had 19 FC entries at the RA June Sprints just 2 months ago and as Rock said previously it was an awesome sight, very exciting! Now only 7 cars signed up?! I really thought this was going to be a banner year for FC. Is this class not in trouble with SCCA if we do not get the numbers up? Where are all the cars from the northeast? Maybe the rest are just trying to be fashionably late? Well in my humble opinion early high entries bring more entries. Road America is an awesome track and venue. Middle of the country, central to all, friendly people. Any thoughts?

I know of a few more that will be registering soon, and hopefully it'll fill up more when parking opens up. It sucks they charge your credit card upfront for the Runoffs, I'm sure that's keeping a lot of people on the fence right now too.

We are up to 11 FCs for the Runoffs. There is still a lot of time to register, and with parking opening up next week hopefully entries will start to fill up more. A lot of people I would normally expect to register still haven't done so, so I am cautiously optimistic we will have north of 15 cars attend.




We (as a class) need to acknowledge the elephant in the room, that being last night's SCCA webinar. 2024 may be the last ever standalone FC Runoffs. Next year, FC will be grouped with FF for the Runoffs, and it remains to be seen how Majors and Super Tour will be handled. Some classes like GTL, F6, and P2 were not so lucky. We absolutely need a strong showing at the Runoffs this year, and across all events next year (especially with the automatic invite threshold being raised from 4.0 to 5.0) to secure a long-term future for our class.
