Can't imagine the cost per unit...
But 3D is getting cheaper by the day. What was $3k 5 years ago is $300 today.
You can get a very good carbon fiber imbedded filament printer the less than $1k and the really good stuff is $5k.
Shops are no longer printing prototypes - they print parts.
The Navy 3D printed a large unmanned submersible a while back. At Lejeune we had a large format printer that could entrain carbon filament. We used it to print a track bogey for a Norwegian snow combat vehicle.
Even the consumer grade machines allow awesome secondary processes.
Our BM autox car has many composite parts made in/on/over 3d prints off a consumer PLA machine, plus a few that are still as-printed.
