Default Tripod greasing easy. (take on the 35mm cap trick)

In the process of tearing down and going through the new car, came re greasing the tripods. I saw some suggest using 35mm film canister and I stole that idea and tweaked it where I think this might be a little easier.

I found a cannon plug cover which fit just tight on it and the cover is more shallow and more flexible than a 35mm film canister.

You can buy these easy and cheap from Mouser...etc. CAPLUGS EC-18

Just sharing. Thanks for all the other contributions on this forum as I have been DEEP into reading as I go though the car.

another option is to use a plastic irrigation syringe with the squirty end off. I cut the end off, then heat it a bit to the plastic gets soft and use a piece or round metal bar to flare the opening. Fill the body up with grease, place the end over the tripod (the flare helps it seal) press it on then depress the plunger and voila! perfectly grease tripods.

Awww, come on guys, it's so simple. Maybe you need a refresher course. Hey! It's all ball bearings nowadays.

That is a great idea too! I love simple solutions. Certainly not something you need to do every day, but thankful that someone had put out the idea of 35mm canister or I would have had grease in my hands doing the best I could to smear it all there for God knows how long.....
