    Default Yamaha R1 clutch repalcement

I'm replacing the clutchmy 1999 R1. I have read that you do mot need the wire cir clip inside the clutch. Is it necessary to replace it?

I went to look at the R1 clutches we have from our Stohr days but cant answer the question as both clutches are aluminum cover Barnett Racing units. They are for sale on our website http://roadracingoverstock.com/motorcycleparts. Apexspeed 20% off on any of the R1 bits and pieces
