    Default Chuck Horn RIP

Chuck passed away last week after a short battle with Cancer. He was arguably the quickest FF driver in the West. Many years ago I counted over 90 race win decals on his trailer and he won many after I counted them. Hence his user name: Flagman
He won many San Francisco Regional Championships in his Crossle then in his DB-6 /Honda starting in 2014. He was second in the 2014 Runoffs and third in 2018.
I think he still holds track records at the tracks in the SF Region and probably others.
He was the first guy I met when I went to Sears Point and was kicking the tires on getting getting my first FF in 1996. Being his friend was a great addition to my life and I can’t believe I’ll never talk racing with him again.
His only failure was to never get me within 7 seconds of his lap times no matter how hard he tried. But even so he let me be Chief Umbrella man at the Runoffs.

Nicely written Richard. Chuck and I had some great races back in the Crossle days.
He will be missed by all.

i first got to know Chuck on a test day at Buttonwillow a couple of years ago. I had been in his race group for years but rarely got to speak with him until we had lunch at B willow. I truly liked the guy. I had always respected his driving. We have lost a real
    racer.
