Heh, I split my car 6 times last year working on my clutch slave cylinder/throwout bearing and debugging transmission issues. First time took me all day and a helper and I used every ratchet strap I could find to hold it up. By the last time I could have it apart and back together by myself in under 45 minutes and I just used two straps. The transaxle is not actually very heavy but it's helpful to have two so you can adjust the angle.

Found a pic of how I had it with two straps

I just lost my starter at my last track day. It was a 10 pinion and 135 ring gear. Prior to starter going, it would periodically have issues engaging. When I put a new 10 pinion on, it absolutely would not engage...seems to work fine with a 9. My car did come with a spare starter that had a 9 on it.

Should I figure out how to make the 10 work...or stick with the 9?

An update...I swapped the flange mount from the dead 10 tooth starter and put it on my spare. I put the 10 tooth pinion on it and it engages perfectly now...must have been a slight difference in the flanges.
