These do not have wavy surfaces like hot wire cut wing elements often do.
These are high quality molded elements that are hollow (no foam) inside except for thin carbon fiber strengthening ribs.
They can be used for low front wings and are very tough.
Can usually always survive high speed direct cone hits. I cut a cone in half at 65 Mph with my old front wing built like this.
APR molded carbon fiber wing elements.
Priced approximately 40% of new
.
Can have 4” cord APR flap added to make the popular 2 element combination rear wing assembly as used on production or modified cars
Quality highly polished finish, strong construction
Nice sharp thin well defined trailing edges.
All are 10” cord with profile similar to high lift Eppler 422.
Hollow construction with thin internal longitudinal stiffening ribs.
2 female threaded mounting inserts each end
2 Brand new, Carbon Fiber, 54.5” long
10" cord
$350 each.
5 lbs. 12-5/8 oz. each
Pictures have dust smudges, wing surfaces are very nice
These could be trimmed easily to 43.307" wide to form a 2 element lower tier on a B-Modified formula car rear wing.
You would use these new end caps below after trimming the element span if the old end caps cannot be re used (usually they are)
2 new carbon fiber end plates with threaded inserts if lengths of any of the above elements need to be changed in span and one is not able to completely clean up and reuse the original inserts. $20 each
1 Brand new Carbon Fiber 56.5” long
10" cord
$375
6 lbs.
The last picture shows how a typical bottom mount is made. Just 2 curved pieces of aluminum using 3/16" rivets up into the element.
Or they can be supported only by the end plates.
