Hi all, does anyone know the best place to acquire MK 9 dog rings, From what Ive seen it's a rip off. I'm a gear manufacturer and it would be very hard to produce this part.

Hi all, does anyone know the best place to acquire MK 9 dog rings, From what Ive seen it's a rip off. I'm a gear manufacturer and it would be very hard to produce this part.
You can manufacture the part, but say it would be very hard to do. I equate that with an expensive part to produce, yet you feel the current manufacturers/suppliers are too expensive.
When it comes to the damage done to a Hewland when something unexpectedly breaks, this is not a place I would scrimp.... I would take the advice of any of our regular suppliers and buy from them regardless of price.

I've been using dogrings.com dog rings in both 1.6L and 2.0L cars for at over 20 years and never, ever had a problem with them. They handle my ham fisted no clutch shifting techniques quite well.

I confess that I did abuse it. Maybe a true Hewland would have done the same.

Probably so, but I threw in a good spare for the weekend and sold the car only a little later. Now I have an LD200 I'm never going back.

Dog Rings
Interesting, as the Hewland Mk series and LD200 series have different ear profiles. I think these are designed as a Mk style.
There are two photos. To me the upper looks like LD200 (labeled as such in tiny print) and the lower MK.

I stock all Hewland ... nothing else . MK-LD-FT-DG-LG
You would be amazed at some of the junk I see in the boxes that come through my shop

Having done Hewland boxes for many years - I'd second Scottys recommendation about Hewland parts.

Try Mary Mitchell, she has some stocks left as her husband Wayne Mitchell (Wayne Mitchell engineering) made and sold MK, FT and DG Dog rings, nice quality about 125 per unit

As of yet no one, I picked up Waynes entire stock of Armstrong Shocks and parts to start that back part back up. The process Wayne had used very old equipment but it is doable business
