Default Championship winning Falcon FX1 Cosworth Sports 2000

Update #2 11/30/23 - ALL SOLD - THANK YOU ALL FOR HELPING!

Update 11/16/23 - I received notice that the car will need to be moved into a long term storage by early December so we are lowering the price to $26,000 OBO for immediate sale.

What you get - the complete car, Log book, complete setup book history, body molds, many wheels, many gears, spare uprights, spare bodywork, spare tub panels and templates and all related items still in the shop.
    Thank you, Jay Messenger

In the mid 1990's Paul and Margie Smith-Haas gave a young Sports 2000 driver from Texas a shot and allowed me to join Team San Diego. That turned into the American City Racing League 1997 Rookie of the Year and an overall win driving their car in 2002.
Now many years later I am returning the favor by assisting in the listing and sale of their championship winning Swift SB2 based Falcon FX1. Please help me in spreading the word.

Thx Jay Messenger 806-946-7252 muleshoeracer at yahoo you know

ACRL Pro Sports 2000 winning Super Sports 2000 Falcon FX1

First time ever offered - a true time capsule of Professional Sports 2000 history - this is a complete sellout of the Paul and Margie Smith-Haas racing team as last raced. Sadly, Paul Haas passed away earlier in 2023 and the time has come to part with this package.
    Offered for sale are:
Falcon FX1 - the complete Margie Smith-Haas championship-winning car - including multiple versions of the unique bodywork, molds, gears, wheels, spares, spares, spares. This race car started as a Swift DB2.
Included with the sale are too many items to list such as documentation, setup notes, brackets, supplies, and accessories for the Cosworth powered Super Sports 2000.
This equipment is part of the personal collection of the original owners and has not been raced since the IMSA/ACRL Daytona race of 2002 where the car was the overall winner in the final. These cars have never been owned outside of the team. This is a one time opportunity.

    The Lineage:
Highly developed Falcon FX1 race car by Paul Haas, one of the original investors in Swift. Paul was very skilled in aerodynamic design, continually testing different setups and eventually designed the Falcon FX1. This bodywork helped the car to be extremely competitive w/the top Lolas and Carbirs in the American City Racing League pro series. He is also known as the designer of Innovon products such as the Optiliner and scale systems.

In 1992, 93, and 94 Team San Diego experienced their most successful results, narrowly missing the Championship in 1992 and 1993. In 1994, the team finally won the Driver Championships (SS2000 - Margie Smith-Haas and S2 - Gary Green) as well as the City Team Championship when it was painted in the very attractive Valvoline livery.

Margie scored 2 pole positions at the end of the 1994 season, clinching the Championship by 1 point at the next to last race of the season at the IndyCar Vancouver event. Margie Smith-Haas continues to be recognized today as she became the FIRST woman in North America to win a professional road racing championship with the Falcon FX1. She is also recognized as the FIRST American woman to race at the 24 hours of Le Mans and the only female driver at Le Mans in 1984 and 1985.

The Falcon FX1 won the final IMSA/ACRL race at Daytona 2002 driven by Jay Messenger in its current silver livery.

The sellers have put together an extensive Google docs data base of parts, team history with photos, past and present for review - this race car package is located in the San Diego team shop - some items are still not inventoried and will be available for inspection/purchase with the package. Additional items including jack, car dolly, pit cart, and multiple setup items are also available.

I am assisting with the sale for the benefit of the owner and available to discuss. Asking price for car, spares, molds is $26,000 obo.
