Default Wynnfirst body for Predator DSR

I am looking for an original Wynnfirst body for a Yamaha powered Predator DSR. Please let me know if you have any information.

Have you contacted Jeff or Jason Miller?

    Default Winnfirst body

i have and got a replacement nose. Unfortunately it is a different style from a newer or older body. Mine has straight side on the front, the new one has curved sides. It fits but I's not quite right. I can send a picture if that help identify it.

I believe you’re referring to Jeff’s 1974 car, and would recommend you post a photo here in case others can help.

My honest confidence for that is very low, though. So far as I know, only Jeff ever drove any early Wynnfurst (this is the correct spelling).

(I was raised in Oconomowoc, by the way)

No worries on spelling, I only corrected for future searches of such a rare car.

That body’s much later than what I was thinking — and I believe is based on a FF Lola T540. Hope someone comes along with more info.

    Default Wynnfurst

So, I just went down into the basement with the spiders and dust and found my original (undated) copy of a Wynnfurst sales brochure. Mr. Pix is correct, it was originally designed to fit the Lola 540. If you PM me with an email address I can send you a copy of it. According to the brochure, the original price was listed as $2,200.00. A little too pricey for me to use on my new BCNUMk1 homebuilt so built my own mold and popped out a body for less than $1,000.00.
Did this Predator originally have a monoshock front suspension? Saw it at Elkhart once upon a time.

No, the car is the Yamaha powered car that I think was built first. If I remember right they tried to design it to look like a CanAm car. The mono shock car has a two stroke engine in it.

I admit confusion as the body looks nothing like any of Jeff’s cars that I recall.

Did Wynnfurst build a specific body for the Predator, or does the Predator use a body from a Wynnfurst chassis design?

And I can say without reservation that the body in your post looks *nothing* like the first Wynnfurst from about 1974. That car had a chiseled look, almost like the very first Shadow “go kart” Can-Am car.

The body in your photos is reminiscent of a mid-‘80s Lola T590-series S2000 car. And at least to my knowledge, every Wynnfurst used a two-stroke, except for possibly the car they ran in the 2-litre Can-Am class, not sure...

    Default Wynnfurst body

Just to clarify, it is not a Wynnfurst car. It has a Predator frame. They first made Mini Indy cars and made two DSR's, one with a two stroke with a snowmobile motor and the one that I have a Ymamaha R1. The information on the car says it is a Wynnfurst body.

    Ahhh, Thanks.

Haven’t the Millers been eager to help?

I got a front end from them and as I said it's not quite right. I'll have to contact again, they are really great people.
