Default How do I buy a tachometer?

    Hey ApexSpeed community!

I need to replace my mechanical tachometer. The gauge body of the one that came out of the dash of my Van Diemen measures 2.5 inches in diameter and the bezel that holds it captive against the dash measures 2 and ?-inches in diameter across the bezel. When I’m shopping for a replacement, am I shopping for a 2.5-inch tach or a 2 and ?-inch tach? Thanks!

Sure it's not 80mm? If so and the original poster isn't interested I'd like to be next in line.
    Thanks

    Default Stack

Sorry - they are 80mm body - you are correct. I have
0ne 08-44 4 cyl 4 stroke. Scale is not compressed in lower rpm 8000 max $275 + shipping
    two 0612-44 Compressed scale to 6000rpm 12000 max $250 each + shipping
I still have a test rig that I can verify that they work and are accurate.
The 8000rpm tach also has new glass fitted during the needle replacement

Interested in the 0-8K unit if the original poster is not. Can you send a pic to jwhite@sacnissan.com please?

    Default I yield!

Thanks very much for your offer, Phil, but I’m looking to not have to modify my dash. So I cede to LastMinute and his interest in your tach. Sorry for the delayed response.

    Default Tach

I do have one of the original mechanical smith tachs with the 2.5 body if you need a working one. $150 + frt
I dont think that there are any electric tachs that I would use at 2.5" body size with no dash mods. Bach in the day we actually went mostly with the big jones mechanical and redid the dash. The original smiths small tach was not well liked for various reasons.
