Finally, moved from a lurker to an FF owner, an SC-93F. Initially, I'll be racing it in Arizona on Toyo treaded tires. I hope it's not too late to start at 71 YO. We will see, first race is Jan 28/29.

Congrats on getting a FF, Have fun with it which I'm sure you will. As long as you're in good health it's definitely not too late to start at 71 Good looking car BTW !
Laurie had some significant SVRA podiums in that car. You'll have fun, and definitely not the oldest driver in EFF!

Vey nice car. I have been on track against it multiple times!
I am in AZ and putting together an FF car to come and join in on some fun with you and the local 'gang'. Great group of people.
Congrats. Looks like my old car, as the steer arms are my design to reduce the bump steer and experiment with Ackerman. Good luck with it, those are good chassis, very reliable and easy to work on.

Congrats! 71 years young? No problem. We've got a couple of Octogenarians that race Formula Fords in RMVR. Never too old to have fun, right? Besides, if you didn't start this year, you'd just be another year older when you do!
Enjoy!

I’ll be 79 in March and I’ll be out in an FF like I have been off and on since 97. Come out and run Laguna Seca and you will be blissed out.

Last weekend, I ran my first FF race in 45 years, at the Arizona Motorsports Park. I would deem it successful, as all 4 wheels are still attached to the chassis. I was bit disappointed in the turn out in the EFF (Toyo tires) class but for now, I need to be in-one with the car and the tracks. With no prior testing, I was somewhat apprehensive but the ProAutoSports org and other FF racers were very accommodating but I did have to run a caution tape streamer attached to my roll bar for the first few sessions. A few spins on the first day, mostly due to missing the 3 to 2 shift and then getting into 1 with the engine essentially idling. I had fun and a great spinless race on Sunday's 30 minute race swapping for position 4 times.
The one thing that stands out is that it seems that the braking grip is much higher than the lateral grip.
VARA at podium club in three weeks!
Age is relative. I got back into FF racing last year at the age of 77. Good luck and enjoy every moment. Cheers!
