Default Brenner electric hoist repair parts ??

after approaching 20 years of outstanding service, the dc electric motor assembly on my Brenner electric hoist has quit. see attached picture. Doug doesn't have repair/replacement parts. has anyone else had the same problem and found an alternative dc electric motor assembly that is easily adapted to the hoist's cross bar??

Is that the 2000lb version? Is it slow enough?
When I first built my gantry I did a single pull block like that, but the $50 winch I was using was too fast and the car would kind of bounce. Ended up making a double pull block and the speed is much more controllable.
