Good afternoon to all. I apologize for not being on to acknowledge and respond individually to your comments, suggestions and advice. Unfortunately, my entire household came down with Covid and knocked us out for a little longer than expected. Grateful that we are all okay now.

I thank you all for sharing your thoughts, advice and suggestions. As a true newbie I look to those that are experienced for advice and direction. The original post was written with the knowledge I've gathered during my 40 years in aviation (general aviation / recreational pilot / single engine.) The new thought process for new aviators is if your planning on buying a certain type of airplane (single engine) it is best to complete your instruction in said plane. I guess that after many years of people starting out in basic non complex aircraft and that then wind up flying modern more complex aircraft there is a benefit to establish a knowledge or hone in a skill on the type of aircraft the person will wind up in. Anyway...totally of topic there.

Just to address a few of the comments:

GOOD -
~ Yes, indeed. I will be attending an open wheel racing school - 5 day advance course - so far I believe that Allen Berg is the one I will be attending. I would like to attend a racing school that races FM or PFM but have not found one thus far.
** I'd like to attend a SCCA Driver's School at Motorsport Ranch renting an FM or PFM from Moses ** if this is even possible.
~ Yes, I have been a member of SCCA on and off for a very long time
~ I have no car racing experience but did race motocross 250cc for 6 years as a youngster
~ The FMzR is designed and built by Moses which is considered one of if not the pioneer of the FM and PFM so I believe that his product should be a hit from the get go.
~ I'm guessing here but, I feel as if the FMzR will probably have a low cost of operation when comparing to other open wheel cars

A FEW CONCERNS-
~ I haven't seen any FMzR related information other than what's on formulamazda.com, this forum and correspondence with Sitara Wilson, a very nice young lady at FM that has provided me with specs.
~ The announcement for pre-order state a 2021 debut....but nothing yet - of the initial 25 build I don't think a single one has been delivered even if all have been spoken for

I'm always a bit weary with "NEW" things as I don't like being the first to buy into a new car model. And I sure as hell don't want to be a Guinea Pig spending $60k-$70k only to help the manufacturer fix and revise issues on my dime. So, I guess that for now I will sit on the sidelines and watch this one play out. I'm hopeful that there will be 25 new FMzRs racing at different tracks by sometime this year, 2022.

On the new FMzr Formula Mazda. When Moses and Mike Anderson finish all the testing, plus you will be would be recieving #20 to 25. I would guarantee that you will not be a Guinea Pig. I have seen the effort Moses has put into this new car, you will not be disappointed

Took delivery of mine 3 months ago in August. Fantastic car, superb build quality, and an absolute blast to drive.

Have been track driving for ~10 years. First 4 years in a Lotus Evora S doing HPDEs and member track days, last 6 years in a heavily upgraded Ariel Atom SRA doing HPDE/member track days/NASA time trials, now in the FMzR doing wheel to wheel.

Car is easy to drive, and did I mention it's an absolute blast to drive? I am also based at MSR Cresson (where Randy and Brandon drive, and where Moses/Sitara @ Texas Autosports is based), and there's probably 20+ of them based here now, with regular club races amongst the other members (typically 10+ FMzRs at a time). Could not be happier with mine. Moses & Sitara are awesome to work with.
