    Default Helmet Painters/Artists

With so many new helmets coming on the scene I'm wondering if any of you have suggestions on helmet painters. Got my new Bell and looking for someone to make it look pretty. Not interested in a $1500 paint job but something more reasonable priced.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks.

    Default Why not....

.....Approach your local community college fine arts program director and ask him/her if there may be a student that wants to take it on? The student gets to be creative on a cooool project he/she wouldn't otherwise be able to do, and would have an amazing new addition to their portfolio that will be seen by many.

You don't pay retail, you help out an arts program and expand a student's experience, and you may just interest them in our sport? With all the money you save (typically, you will only pay for materials), you can make a cash donation to the program and still save a bundle......

    Win win win!

    cheers,
    BT

Check out Alyssa Korecky facebook. She is a local artist. She is a championships winning road racer(karts) she is amazing and last we spoke was interested I branching out to include racing helmets . I saw a portrait of Senna she did on a skateboard deck. Awesome!
Her father ej has a dp08. She is still in art School and pretty sure they are in Aurora.
I would love to have a custom helmet but I'm to cheap ! Lol

I'm going to have to hit you up for some more vinyl soon.
You did some for me about 4 years ago that was top notch.

    Default Helmet graphics

For those wondering about the process and cost to do a simple design like a 1 or 2 color graphic, I'll use the orange and red graphic on the white Bell sport pictured above as an example. Client races go karts and his wife was unable to pick him out of the crowd, so his criteria was it needed to be bright and visible and also on a budget (in this case it was $200-$300). With budget in mind, I figured I'd keep it fairly simple and avoid a lot of complex curves, but still offer a great looking helmet all done using 2 colors of vinyl. I created a quick proof sheet with 4 color combinations (see attached image) and without hesitation he thought the fluorescent orange and red layout was perfect. I had to special order the fluorescent orange vinyl, but usually not a problem since I can get most colors by the yard if needed. Pricing will vary depending on colors, some chrome and carbon fiber vinyls can be triple the cost of a solid color. Using knife less cutting tape, I applied each graphic component separately, cut his name on a vinyl cutter, and was done. I believe the final bill was closer to $300 since there is a slight premium on fluorescent colors in a conforming wrap film but within his budget. Options like a clear coat, printed graphics, and paint are available (actually the middle image above with yellow and blue checkered pattern utilizes all three options) at additional cost. I'm sure there are a few of you with white helmets afraid to ask how much it will cost thinking every design is $1500, I hope this helped. Most racers find it hard to justify spending more on the graphic than the helmet itself.

A few pics of the Senna skateboard my daughter (Alyssa) free hand oil painted. And yes...she is very interested in pursuing this idea when she graduates from CCAD this spring.
