I see no class dilution here.
Great way to get started in formula car racing!
Should be a new SCCA class by .... April?

The link didn’t work for me, but this does:

Sorry to not be excited, but every time we reinvent the (open) wheel, we dilute other weakened series. We need our up-and-comers to have a route to IndyCar, like USF2000, the dying Indy Pro Series, and the near-dead Indy Lights.

This, too shall pass — as will IndyCar feeder series if we’re not careful.

But...but...this one and 50 Million USD will get you into F1!

Isn't this the F3/F4 series already in SCCA Pro?

Exactly, BBR... even insiders can’t keep up with brand confusion.

    Should we go halvsies? ;-)

Should add... I sincerely hope I’m dead wrong! I’d for sure love the idea more if a joint venture; say six races with SCCA Pro weekends, six with IndyCar, and six with a mix of other big shows — so a variety of team owners could see what our own can do.

The good news: Honda’s backing! My negativity is in having watched *so many other* series fail, where a joint venture may have brought 40 cars.

We shall see, and regardless, Thanks for posting this!

I'm betting that series snags, at most, three folks who raced SCCA Club last season. Not a threat to SCCA club at all, unless you own a FA, perhaps that car will be added to that group 3-4 years down the road.

The F3/FR name change happened over a year ago.
It seems there’s a message for the people running the series in the fact that some people as open-wheel savvy as Apexspeed members weren’t aware of it .....

My conclusion is they are probably marketing to top level (16yo) karters with a lot of cash who have asperations of F1.
We are 'club centric/old pro' here - aka not F1 candidates.

I guarantee the old cars will be marketed to us in the near future!
