    Default Really, complain about traffic?

Ok, they’re F1 prima donna’s, but when with all the computer telemetry and pit support watching all the monitors, you wait until
the last minute to go out to qualify and wind up in a flipping traffic jam and then have the nerve to whine about traffic?

Even a lowly Club Ford driver knows you have to balance traffic with drafting and picking a good drafting partner and then capitalize on the opportunity.

When everyone has the same data - everyone make the same decisions.

Of course - "Monkey see, Monkey do" does come into effect......

The strategists just cannot give up on being the last one across the line, even if it is to the detriment of the driver and team.

Easy fix. Go to single-car qualifying. Enough of this playing about for a tow or clear track or whatever they are looking for. One car, one flying lap, do or die.

Agree. Not to mention there’s a certain beauty to only hearing one car going around.

Villeneuve died qualifying in 1982 after hitting a slowing car. Roland Ratzenberger died in 1994 on a qualifying lap, and I’m sure there’s more.

I personally believe racing has gone too far in some safety decisions, this one maybe not far enough.

since there is no money to make and excessive spending won't get you up the grid.

Speaking of qualifying, I was reading about the second Bahrain race using the "outer loop" track. The anticipated lap times over this "roval" will be about 55 seconds, gonna be real hard to get 20 cars spaced out enough to do qualies.

IndyCars at Portland are sub-1 minute laps, but the first round of qualifying is in two parts, so 12 or 13 cars only. We'll see what they come up with. Or just give Hamilton the pole and let everyone else run for the scraps.

    Default F1 qualifying

The Indy car format would never work for F1 simply if they didn't think of it, it certainly must not be right as only F1 is capable of thinking these things up.

Dream on and I think you will find spec cars or club cars I would submit the difference in cost and money spent varies tremendously from the guy who runs first to the guy who runs last at championship level races., club racing or not. Perhaps you have a formula as to what is excessive spending.

I do. Excessive spending is what my wife spends on yarn for knitting & crocheting. And she still hasn't made me a car cover.
