I have a Wink WDF2 with a fairly new ivey engine that I acquired not quite 2 years ago. It has a dual smiths gauge for oil temp/pressureand the temp side of the guage wasn't working when I bought it. I discovered after the fact that the sender on the cap tube had been cut off and the tube just hanging off the frame. (A very good reason for it not to be working! )
I wanted to get it working; so I sent the gauge off to have it refurbished (Nisonger) and I’min the process trying to figure out where to put the sender when it gets back as there is no obvious port on the engine block or head. (perhaps why they just cut itoff to start with, but who knows).
One obvious place is a plug in the oil galley of the Titan dry sump pan (opposite the oil pickup tube),another would be in the oil tank though that would require welding a bung for it, or lastly rig something up tee'ed into an oil line.
Anyone have suggestions on where to put it or details on how theirs is plumbed/installed would behelpful.
thanks,
fj..
