My 1973 Hawke Formula Ford, uses a screw on cap with a female thread. The male tank part is 2" in OD, and is about 10 tpi. I'd like to carry a spare, but can't seem to find one. Any ideas?

More than likely the cap was something off the shelf, and for the timeframe, in inches rather than metric. You might try looking at what the various stock car suppliers have, or the many British race car suppliers.
Or just have a lock machine shop make you one.

Thanks for all your help. I ended up re-purposing an old spring perch, and a bit of scrap Al bar, and machining them to fit.
