    Default Hawke DL2B - looking for history of this car

    Hello,

    have brought this car to Australia. Interested if anyone knew of any history of this car, or how to maybe get information out of the CASC or SCCA.

    Also wondering if anyone has clues on former owners.

    Was owned and raced in Ontario area but may have travelled south.

    Car was sold at

    http://www.apexspeed.com/forums/show...ighlight=hawke

    CASC numbers were: 3-047

    and more recently on new log books: 95-013

    The first digit of the CASC tag denotes where it came from. In an entirely intuitive (??) method of #'s in alpabetical order!

    1 = Atlantic
    2 = British Columbia
    3 = Ontario
    4 = Prairie
    5 = Quebec

    So, (as you already know) your car came from Ontario. I don't know anyone there, but you should be able to track someone down from http://www.casc.on.ca/.

    As well, (if you know the drivers), http://autocourse.ca/ may have results archived.

    Belonged to and ran by Andy Januszewski in VARAC for many years.

    I do not have his contact information but email the membership secretary at VARAC (Vintage Automobile Racing Association of Canada) and ask if you could be contacted by him.

    Default thanks

    The 1971-1974 autocourse results list some intesting Hawke grids.

    Gilles Villeneuve won one of the FASQ GP3R races, and was named rookie of the year.

    They must have been superseded quickly, as the DL10s and 11s were quickly listed a couple of years later.

    I bought the car (the Hawk)less bodywork, and engine from a fellow in Windsor Ontario in about 1990. I can't remember the fellows name. The front of the chassis had been torched off so it would stand up in his garage.

    I didn't ever run the car, it was sold off and Andy was the first one to run it in Historic racing.

    Thanks very much for that. In the autocourse results there are at least 3 listed out in the Ontario region. I know its a fairly big place. Bigger than Texas??

    Imagine Vintage racing before the INTERNET!
