Someone over in the general forum posted that the track surface is in horrible condition. Has anyone run the track this year in a vee? What is the gearbox situation? Seems like it would be short box, but never been there, so ...?
Any other comments?

I drove a Penske super vee at the track last Oct (just before the fires) track was fine, we used a lot of downforce and short gears all went well, until I blew up the motor
I drive a CF, so consider the source.
Contact Larry Bacon lbacon on Apexspeed for Gearbox recommendations.
There are lots of elevation changes, some areas with bumps such as the area between T-1 and T-2, T-6 Carrosel and exit of T-7. Some corners with blind apexes and exits. Sonoma track surface likes new tires. Important to get your high/low speed damping right.
I'd recommend going on youtube looking for recent FV videos of the track. Even better would be a racing sim for you.

Shortbox with medium or short 3rd. All 3rd gear situations are part of normal upshifts into 4th. There are no situations where you hangout in 3rd.
Kind of a slow track relative to top speed. If I remember correctly maybe 62-6400 rpm.

Hard to pass 6000 in 4th in a vee. I ran my Titan ford and used a 24/27 top gear and never saw much over 6000 Most important in a vee is to carry flat or nearly so in t10
