1987 Red Devil T87

For sale chassis T87-1, lay down model with 494 Non Rave. Original "Hinged chassis" was repaired, reinforced, and wheel base was lengthened to 79.5 inches, when converted to the Rotax engine. Many updates that include: New Polaris primary and Artic Cat roller secondary from QRE. Poly chain drive with new spare belt. New custom 4130 rear axle. Four gallon aluminum tank.

Final drive ratio is set up for road racing as I build as a track day car. Should be easy to change sprockets to achieve auto cross ratios. It has one set of mounted R25s, one set of mounted rains, 2 sets of scuffed R25s, plus includes many spares and tools. The car has 7 track days and 2 autocrosses since rebuild and has been proven reliable and good handling. I have original log books, and car history.

Estimated weight in the logbook is 570 lbs. without fuel and driver. Even with the mods I would still think it would still be under 600 lbm

I will take pictures for you with the body work off, give me a couple of days to post them.

I have not had this car on scales. I can provide the weight listed in the latest log book when it was run with a 440.

The main chassis has not been modified, but there is added weight with the 494 replacement, custom engine plate, thicker tubing for the swing arm, and the reinforcement to the driveline cradle. If the dry weight is really needed, I should be able to rent a hoist scale.

Yes the car is still available I am 5'10 and was 210 when I bought the car, the fit was comfortable with a little room to spare. There is also room to move the pedals forward too. The best answer I can tell you is most likely.

The original body work is not available. From the pictures in the log books, the body work was replaced in about 1990-91, and probably at the same time when the hoops where replaced.

No, the roll bar has been updated but the foot box an fuel cell has not. In order to correct the foot box, the seating angle would need to be changed too, this would require the hoop to be raised.
