Default Introduction and request for some information

    Hi all

By way of introduction my name is John and I have recently purchased a Lotus 51a (1968) with a Hewland H6 gearbox. The car is ex Alan Conway in Australia and was restored by Casey Annis in the late 90's. I am new to open wheeler ownership, but it has been a life long dream of mine finally realised. There are two 51's in Australia one on the North Island and mine down here in Tasmania.

I am wondering if there are few of items out there that I can download or purchase to help me maintain and run the car.

The first is any information/owners manual on the maintenance, torque settings and setup etc for a of a Lotus 51?

The second is a manual covering maintenace and dismantling/reassembly of a Hewland H6 gearbox?

I have searched the forum and found that Redline shockproof light was at one stage recommended for the transaxle, is this still the best choice for my gearbox? Also what is the best engine oil to use.

Cheers and looking forward to chatting to you all
    John

    Default Lotus 51 Specs

Hi John and welcome to the madness. I have some information I can send you. It is in pdf format and I found it in an old LFFR magazine. Hopefully this will let me add it but if not send me your email through a PM and I will send it to you. I have a 61 which is more or less a re-bodied 51.
