The Alum block is an update designed, fabricated and installed by gearbox specialist Taylor to improve the support and seal the shift fork.....I know it looks clunky but it works well.

The whole shifting system was a sloppy mess when I got it. Taylor did the gearbox mod and I fabbed up a new linkage with all new joints. Very tight and smooth now. How much was due to the gearbox and how much due to the linkage? Don't really know but most likely both were significant.

At the risk of hijacking my own thread……here is some background…..The car started life as a Factory Five GTM Kit. Virtually every part has been worked or fabbed from scratch by me including the engine and turbo system. Car made over 800 HP at the tires on the dyno at about 10 lbs. of boost. It has enough fuel system and turbo to go to 30 Lbs of boost. If I can ever get enough time to finish the bodywork, I can get it on the road and track, tune the chassis and maybe turn up the boost a bit.

That is one reason I’m selling the swift. I would like a relatively new, modern, reliable car I can race without too much trouble at the track (I am in the process of replacing the FA with a FB), so I can spend more time finishing the GTM.

Oil cooler is available just not installed. Since I only ran 20 minute sessions, the cooler didn't allow the gearbox oil to get up to operating temperature soon enough.

    Default Joel:

Is the car still around/available ?

If so, do you or the Log Book show the last few owners. I had Stuart Crows Wyndam car, tried to buy it back but the guy must live on another Planet :-)
I'm back in the Market and missed Greg Gezarians car that went to California.

What would you say a fresh top notch engine would cost for this car? 4AGE I assume.
