Wow, looks almost like long grass with a bit of color added.
Looks like the crank was stripped also. How was that fixed?

Crank was fine but we decided to use the whole flywheel, pressure plate and disk from the donor engine. This worked great. I've wracked my brain as to why this happened and all I can come up with is a lining piece came loose from the disk an held if away from the flywheel causing massive slippage and heat.
Interested in other theories, but the clutch was perfectly adjusted and worked great before this happened.
Check out the blue flywheel!
I noticed the blue flywheel. Slippage does generate heat!
I once owned a very hot MG Midgett that would occasionally strip the clutch lining right off the disc. It was not from abuse. I could just let the clutch out in a normal fashion and it would just sit there...
I went through 3 clutch discs before I found the problem. The flywheel had been lightened and the clutch surface machined slightly. The machinist did a poor job on the clutch surface such that it was not perpendicular to the centerline. It worked just fine until it didn't... probably not your problem here but you never know.

So here it is, the first two rounds of the Hoosier FST at Gingerman:
