removal of HANS anchors

I am considering buying one of the economical decal kits that they make for helmets.
The design will likely have some of the vinyl in an area where the HANS anchors were installed.
I could try and cut around the anchors, but I don't think that would be as professional looking.
Can the anchors be removed and reinstalled with compromising safety?
They are the version that is about the size of a quarter

yes, they just thread in. you may or may not need the thin wrench for the anchor nut inside the helmet, depending on how it was assembled.

Perfectly reusable BUT make sure you clean the threads and reapply some blue loctite.

Thanks for the responses about the anchors.
I sent the new helmet to Hubbard Downey when I needed to get certification a few years ago and I had the tethers upgraded to the newer version on my older HANS.
Last night I thought I would try to test your statement about them being removable.
I put a small crescent on the anchor expecting it to loosen.
Would not budge. I also tried a appropriately sized slotted screwdriver and no luck.
I tried to look under the pad to see the nut that was referenced, but it seemed like I would rip the pad trying to move it away from the shell.
I'm not sure how far I want to push the issue just to add some graphics to my helmet.
Just thought I'd mention what transpired.

Sounds like somebody used loctite. I don't know how much heat the helmet could stand trying to break the screw free.

Trying to loosen the outer w/o holding the inner from rotating has a low % chance of working, even if it was not Loctited, IMO. It's not that big of a deal to slightly pry the padding away from the shell. Even if it breaks loose you can re-adhere it with hot glue, or high-strength contact cement, like 3M High Strength 90, which is available at Lowes, etc.
