The first test certainly went, but not well. Marussia and Lotus are not present. Red Bull and McClaren didn't run. Force India and Ferrari both broke on the installation lap. Hamilton made 18 laps in the Mercedes before meeting the wall when the front wing fell off.
Picture of front of mercedes, so much different than the rest of the cars

Someone at Caterham should be shot. That is just beyond awful.

KEEP THE KINK!
How long will it be before someone does a Van Diemen update kit with one of these noses! Its F1 so it must be better.
Caterham looks like I did it with a roofing tin mould and some ABS plumbing pipe. Wasn't the Caterham guy the one who was saying the new noses were so awful they must be banned? I think Mercedes and Ferrari are winning, their solutions look pretty good and pretty similar. Force India with the two prongs looks like a crippled praying mantis.

This is great stuff...the new cars. 4 or 5 distinct approaches to meeting the new nose rules. How many will there be at mid season? Given the crash testing needed if a big change is made, maybe they won't all end up looking the same. We have not seen variety like this in years.

Please! No more atrocities.

I don't follow F1 as much as I used to, as the vettle-show has gotten boring. Whats up with the prominent proboscis problem? Impact attenuation erotica?

Talent usually ends up in front, but fun goes from the front of the grid all the way to the back.
Like I said before, Ferrari has the most reasonable looking nose given the circumstances.

"The reaction to the car has been huge - people either love it or hate it, but for me it's not really important what it looks like, as what counts is how quick it is. If it's fast then I really don't care if it's the worst looking thing out there, if it's slow but beautiful then what's the point of that?"
Marcus Ericsson - Caterham F1 driver
Gotta say, I agree with him.
Also - trying to get the above into a quote in the 'reply to' box was a #$%&#($ nightmare.

I think Newey's somewhat platypus-esque RB10 wins the *beauty* pageant and will undoubtedly be an effective piece as well.

And I agree - the fact that redbull are the only ones with that design probably makes the rest of the teams a little nervous
The Good The Bad and The Ugly they do stir up attention which can't be all bad for the sport.
Terrible shame to run over that pretty wing and stuff it in the hedge... thankfully Lewis was ok.
