Just wanted to see if anyone had in-car footage from the runoffs or any other good FV videos. I need something to hold me over during the winter months
Thanks!

No runoffs videos, but I have some regional edits on my youtube channel.

Nice videos!
Maybe this could be a thread where those who are interested in FV could see what it's all about.
Thanks. I know there are plenty of onboards out there. I think Steve Davis has some up on Vimeo.

Here's a video facing backwards on my car from the 2012 runoffs. Charlie Rogers talked me into putting his camera on my car...he wanted it facing forward, but I refused as we couldn't agree on a spot that wouldn't add any air drag. We settled on inside the body facing backwards.
The video is the 2nd half of the race, after the initial FCY's. Good battle between me, Roger Siebenaler, Chris Jennerjahn, and Gary Blanarik. I kept screwing up turn 1 most of the race. Video starts with me in 3rd.
I've never posted anything like this before, so hopefully it works and doesn't come back to haunt me. Enjoy!

On your car that's a good thing... A neat way to watch the race....he wanted it facing forward, but I refused...
Thanks!

Yeah I know of a a lot of videos on YouTube and Vimeo but I don't want to post them without the owners premission.
Thanks for posting those videos, the 1200 series looks like a lot of fun, hopefully my dad and I will make the trip to mosport at some point in the near future.
Awesome video, thanks for posting that Mike.
Here's my first race with my new Hero 3. Great clarity, except I didn't tighten the mount and it all goes sideways.

Reinventing the world, one wheel at a time.
An "interesting" way to view a video - I can LAY down while I watch .
FWIW, I'm pretty sure you have either a bad 3rd gear syncro, or your clutch is not fully disengaging (maybe you're not .. or you CAN'T.. get the clutch fully disengaged?). You (we) should NOT hear that 'grind' during every downshift. Either way, it's bound to get worse if you don't fix it.
Steve, FV80
The rest of the video is totally sideways.. so I've got to lean over to watch it. We did have issues with the trans that weekend which will be addressed in the off season, thanks for the input. Always appreciate advice from those who know a whole lot more than I do.. which is most everyone.

Here is my YouTube channel. I don't have a whole lot yet, or anything special, but some I find interesting because my GoPro is on my helmet. I'm going to upload more this winter. Also, Trevor Miller has several on there as well.

Here's my view of the 2012 Runoffs.
https://vimeo.com/79261774
Almost able to see the guys in front for a couple laps Then I bring up the tail end of the second group for most of the race until a (large) mistake two laps from the end.
Every lap was a learning experience running with these guys....
Both full course yellows are still in the vid so be ready to fast fwd or nap for a few minutes.
The 2013 Runoffs video didn't come out very well unfortunately...the camera was all katywompus.

Same here. One of the better video's I've watched.Great Video! Thanks for posting!
Thanks,

Andy - let me FOURTH that! Great Video. Until I saw this, I had NO IDEA that we had contact into T1. I wondered what had happened to you, but never could remember to ASK. I think we were both quite lucky - it could've been a LOT worse. You did a great job to save it before getting into the gravel. Your car was handling great and you had "the engine" .
Steve, FV80
Thought we could use a change of topic from tires. Someone just posted this on youtube. Parts 2 and 3 are available as well.
1980 Runoffs.

Michael,
WHERE can I find the other 2 parts ?? That was my FIRST Runoffs. CSPRRC days. I never new this was out there and never knew that Mr. David 'obbs would be doing color. Hell.. back then I didn't even have a TV .
Unfortunately, my race was pretty short - but I was great friends with Wayne Moore - he allowed me to crew for him for a year to 'learn the ropes' in FV. I was able to get out of my trashed car (I WAS in the pace laps! ) and watch him come from behind (in front of me, of course) and take that win.
Also .. QUITE interesting to hear Hobbs say that the average age of the drivers was THIRTY FIVE. Hmmm... 35 + 34 years = average age now of ... 69 ?? WELL.. we ARE doing a tad better than that, I think.
Sure wish I could find a video of the entire race.
Thanks,
Steve, FV80
Steve,
I was surprised to see it as well. I was just doing a search for FV and runoffs videos on youtube and came across it. At the end you see david hobbs doing the interview...he looks like a teenager almost.

Wow! Thinks for digging that up. Even though I knew the outcome... I STILL didn't think he could do it. Maybe one of the best drives ever in SCCA runoffs history.
I didn't see the last lap run through the dirt and don't remember it. It takes a bit of luck as well.
That was great! Much better way to start Thanksgiving than a tire war thread. Thanks for finding that Mike.
Awesome great find Michael!
Haha I love the end when Hobbs says Formula Super Vee and Moore corrects him

Yeah .. I didn't SEE the off at T3, but I did get to watch Wayne pass Courtney, et al, coming down the back straight. QUITE a finish. Not QUITE as exciting as the 1987 finish, though
Jim Averitt, Mark Edwards, Stevan Davis, George Fizell, Donnie Isley and Chris Shultz all in about 2 1/2 carlengths...
Can't quite remember who WON though
Since I saw that photo on your website it became one of my favorite FV pictures. If there is a more exciting (for drivers and spectators) turn than the old Road Atlanta bridge turn I don't know what it is.
Thanks posting this Mike! Great stuff, same guy has a couple others posted, including the S2 race. With any luck he will add some more, would love to see the FF race...
I put together a video for the Autumn Challenge Cup using clips from Trevor Miller and Matt Clark. The series was a lot of fun for those involved and will hopefully continue to grow!

Nice video Brian. thanks
First two laps from my 2013 Runoffs. I can really see my mistakes where I should have kept my foot in it. Any other suggestions are appreciated from the front of the field.

Don't beat yourself up so much. I didn't see many options in turn 1 at the start and you didn't rip it on the second lap because you respected the yellow.
I'd raise the idle a bit on the motor to make downshifts a bit easier and the bark I hear from your tranny tells me a bit of a blip on the throttle during down shifts will make the synchros last a bit longer. Try not to wait so long to get back on the power.
From watching your hands moving, the car looked wicked loose, I'd work on that. You appear a bit early on some apexes but that's probably since the car was a bit iffy with oversteer.
