FB Ad Hoc Committee

The SCCA Formula Sports Racing Advisory Committee (FSRAC) is asking interested club members from the FB / F1000 Community to serve on an Ad Hoc Committee to develop an entry path for new engines, open ECU's and HP levels.

The Committee will report directly to the FSRAC and be chaired by Chris Huskamp. The committee's make up is not limited to car owners and drivers and may include manufacturers and engine builders.

Interested club members should submit a resume through the CRB Letter Submission Form; category F-FS; Class FB. In addition to general personal information, the resume must also outline SCCA involvement, FB involvement and interest and reasons you would like to serve.

The FSRAC recognizes both the need and complexities of integrating the next generation of motorcycle engines into the class as it moves forward.

The FSRAC spent quite a bit of time on these issues last year and just could not find a solution we were comfortable with. Lots of bright people in this class so we've decided to enlist the help of those with a direct involvement in the class.

I hope George Dean is part of this committee based on my many years of experience with DSR stock and built motors. I am relatively new to F1000. George has experience with numerous power plant options backed up with dyno data. Truly George Dean has proven to be a great asset to our sport. To validate that statement, I have seen George help anyone at the track regardless of who built their motor. In my opinion, George's ego does not get in front of his thought/data knowledge process.

The engine power/ecu/wiring harness manipulation/oiling issue requirements is a sensitive area regarding future power plants. I know a lot, but frankly I am in the weeds regarding this area. The 07/08 package continues to be the favored package although I am sure we will see some new power plants as early as COTA. Then we will all be subject to competitive adjustments thereafter depending on what power plants may evolve.

I believe engine governess/engine rules management is the biggest risk to managing the long term health of F1000.

So great to see you step forward into this role. You will be a very strong advocate for F1000 and you know the cars so well.

Having you serve on the board is a major plus for the F1000 class, that is one reason I had to mention your name in a nomination.
