Default New Lime Rock Park Overall Track Record

Congrats to Chris Fahan, who, in his Swift 016.a, lowered the overall Lime Rock Track Record (all current configurations) to 46.328 seconds during Saturday's NARRC Run-offs race, besting the time Paul LeCain and his Ralt set at this event two years ago by just one one-thousandth! These are faster than Geoff Brabham's 46.470 which was set in 1988 with the Nissan ZX-Turbo GTP, before the '92 and '93 records were made with the now-demolished Chicane.

Default congrats Chris:

I watched that race and watched him slice thru the traffic. I was amazed how fast the "A" cars were.,but didn't know I was watching a new lap record. I drive a vee and am 3 seconds off the record. So can appreciate what he did. Great going Peter E. Cheney fv #06

Default Great job!

In my conversation with Chris, he was running in FS, not FA, with an unrestricted or less restricted motor. Still a great lap! But not in FA....

I spoke with him before the event so I am not sure exactly what configuration he ended up running.

Still a good lap to shoot for next year!

Yeah, wasn't sure as both he and John pre-registered in FS but only John marked his car as such out on the track.

Default from the drivers point of view

I would love to hear Chris' point of view on the session... over all as well as that lap. did he realize as he ran it that it was that fast? Was he shooting for that this weekend or was it just the perfect storm?
Im my experience, drivers rarely realize just how fast a great lap is. As Joe Stimola taught me, If it is fast the driver should tell you it feels slow.
