hi,
i plan to be at the race and the test day as well, not sure if i will arrive around 8am, or more likely around noon, for the test day.
it will be my first time in an fv and i could likely use some help. i may not have much in the line of crew, so if anyone with some experience can help...
i generally park/paddock/camp in the turn 2 to turn 3 stretch.
anyone is welcome to drop by, i'll be in the black problemchild fv...
i can almost garantee i'll have forgotten your name halfway through our conversation(i'll just apologize now...) but eventually i'll learn! i'm looking foreward to running with you all.
mike
I'll "crew" for you, Mike, but I'm not sure I'll be there for the test day. Races for sure.
Rob Zatz
thanks rob!!!
are you free the weekend before the race? i could stand to scale out my car if my trailer is ready on time...
if you are free.
mike
Mike,
I'll have to let you know about the weekend as my in-laws are arriving from England on the 18th and I don't know what's planned. I'm definitely free on that Monday, and Tuesday and Wednesday after work. And it looks like I'll be able to make the test day in the afternoon.
Vee's don't really need to be scaled unless you just want to find out what it weighs as the zero-roll rear suspension pretty much takes care of corner weights.
-Rob
There will be a few of us Vee types there on Friday for the test day. Look around the north garages should you need a hand.
Dennis
i miss spoke there, i just want to make sure i'll make weight...
and i'd like to get an idea of the front-rear balance...
i doubt i'll be able to get an evening free, i'll likely just get it on the scales at the track...
i'll see you there in any case...
Great to see a New Guy in FV, Mike. I'm just starting my 3rd season. The drivers are great people and you're going to have a lot of fun.
I have a pair of scales that I can bring on Friday if you need them. Let me know.
I see 17 FVs registered as of this morning, and I know at least 1 more is coming.

Nine Vees signed up as of May 9th.[/quote Hi Harry: as of 15 may there are 17 fv signed up for the race .we missed you at the rational 2 weeks ago I qualified 3rd for the regional and 6th on the grid and my oil cooler let go on the pre grid if it was going to let go It was a good place. with my luck I would have runed the nice new motor It still had 2 quarts in it when I got home
Hi Peter, My car wasn't ready for the Rational, but I did go to Pocono. Not enough Vees but still a fun weekend. Wow with your car - pre-grid was a good place to have the oil cooler go. Looking forward to seeing you at NHMS - we'll be in Garage 12A. -Harry
PS - great qualifying ... a tough hive of FVs were there!
FV Lynx/B #8
21 Vees for the weekend's fun.
FV Lynx/B #8
Actually Harry...only 20 Vees and one F500
Rumor of at least one more Vee showing up though.
It's the largest single class of the weekend so far.
Should be a good time!
-A
At least 21 vees. Vandie is a Luddite and only enters by snail mail. Should we ask if the sole F5 wants to go run with the Fo
rds?
That might make 22 because Jeff Valeo is renting one of Dick's FVs!
I suggest that the Front Pack guys spice things up by towing double trailers behind them. I'd be glad to handle the paperwork for the GCR committee, just let me know.

Outside of the Runoffs and June Sprints has there been a larger Vee field anywhere lately?
I have good video why a F500 car with slow drivers should not ever run in a Vee race with 23 cars! From hero to zero in half a lap. How do you go from last and go to almost 5th before turn 1 then back to where you started again by turn 6 and break up all the Vees up. F500 should not have trouble lapping infront of a Vee. Those cars have plenty of power and should not be racing with Vee drivers.
Mark Filip
It really was a great weekend up there. It was my first time at Louden, and I have to say, I really like the way it races. As for the F500, it was..... tricky to deal with.
Does anyone have or know of photographers from the FV races?

Hey Matt,
Nice to meet you, glad you had a good time way up North. I saw Roz at different locations trackside both Saturday and Sunday. He'll porbably be sending you some proofs in the next few days.
Dennis
Matt send me a PM I have some video of you and I mixing it up.

@ Dennis:
Nice to meet you too. I definitely had fun up there. I will be making that tow again. I think I met Roz, but I can't remember for sure since I met so many people. I will be on the lookout for the pics, though.
@ Mark:
I have some video too, but my camera mount kept either fogging up or tipping over (cracked a mount). Will be interesting to see the other side of the battle, though.
Thanks guys!

Matt that would be cool I could edit the videos to go from one car to the other. I had fogging problem but thanks to Harry White my problems were solved Sunday. Harry always gets great video. Thanks for the great racing!

My wife took these. I'll send more next week when I have time to edit, but most of them are of me.
Very cool!
Nice job Craig...you and Anthony were smokin' this weekend.
I was literally laughing as we crossed the line in that last shot. Think I bent the front beam trying to push the throttle pedal through the front of the car
Lots of fun.

Craig here are some pictures I took of you guys at the Rational

Mark - thanks a bunch.
Andy - you were laughing while I was praying.
I had a ball this weekend. The first "good" weekend since opening day last year. I forgot how much fun it is when you aren't chasing issues all day, but out chasing the rest of you around the track. It's nice to be out there with guys you trust, respect, and know won't give me or expect any more than an inch or two.
I'll get the rest of the pictures out to the main characters this weekend or next week. Most are of AJP or Anthony and me. I'll post the ones here of the starts (pertain to everyone).
See you guys at Limerock.
That was a superb race weekend. Great photos, Craig.
Let's do it all again soon.
