....Great time! Thanks to everyone involved that made it happen. I had an absolute blast, even when driving in the grass around the apex of the carousel all the way under the bridge, and taking out three pylons at 13 on the last lap of the wet vintage race (you dont know if the dry line is, in fact dry, until you try it!).

Here's a little bit of the story of the National race, which I watched from the top of the hill overlooking turn 13-14 and also turn 5. The race started dry with not even a hint that rain would be an issue. Before the rain started Kautz and Treadway were tied together, never more than a foot apart. My son Dennis has a great picture on the main straight with Kautz in the lead and Jeremy behind, so close that you cant even see Jeremy's car.



There was then small gap back to Cliff Johnson, Tony Coello, Scott Ruebenzer, Nunes, Runyan, etc, etc all the way back to 20th in close proximity. There was a big crash after the kink, bringing out a FCY for 2 laps.

The rain started on lap 6, drizzle at first, but cars starting to slide around. Kautz got loose coming through 13 and Treadway passed under him into the last turn. Cliff Johnson then spun in 13 as the rain then started to come down heavy. Kautz went off on lap 8. Marc Blanc was very fast in the rain, got himself up to 2d but went off twice.

John Robinson, my son Bill and Steve Maxwell went back and forth for 4th, 5th and 6th. Bill has some great video of their race which we will post as soon as we can get it edited. On lap 8 Dave Livingston spun in 13 and Lou Cooper III couldnt avoid him and they sat in the middle of the track. The stewards wisely checkered a lap early.

Kind of disappointing end to a terrific weekend. It would have been a much better race if the rain had held off, but it sure was exciting to watch.

Congrats to Jeremy Treadway, his dad Harry, Ray, and crew chief Mike Agnifilo and to everyone else who raced in this historic event.

Is Livingston OK? I saw the accident and it seemed like it took forever for the safety truck to cross the track to get to him.

David spun in front of me in 13. I was clear until I was hit from behind. It unfortunately spun me around a I hit David backwards (trans axel first). The last update I got from his father was he was able to move his toes and there was concerned his leg may be broken. His car was damaged mostly from cutting him out. In talking with the scca today, I was informed the delay in getting to David was because the corner worker closest to the incident tripped on his way and broke the cable to his radio. Communication was then lost with station 13. Because of all the other incidents around the track, radio traffic was out of control and they would not release the safety crew. It did end up being the reason for the checker a lap early. I hope we hear good news about David's condition.
