Attached is the tentative entry list for the F2000 Championship Series for the 2008 season.
Obviously not every car/driver combination will be at every event but this gives a good picture of hat is coming in April at VIR.

56 Drivers - Very impressive even if only half the group shows up at any given race. Should be quite a show.

#1 ??? This must be like NASCAR rules for numbers? Sort of like the restarts I guess.....
2006
2007
What no FC from the 80's??
The number of drivers is great. I look forward to seeing how things sort themselves out in the races. The possibility of a 40 car field seems pretty likely.
Mike,
What a huge field!
Regards,
GregoryJ

Matt, Foschi said you clearly jumped that start. I was there when he ran up the flag stand and yelled at Phil. I then thought "How much weight can that stand hold?" still don't know how the first place car can jump a restart but what the hell do I know. I doesn't matter anyway because in the end the little 16 year old girl beat you again. Love you man.

I just talked to Richard Morgan today and he still has a Zetec car available for either selected events or for the entire F2000 series. The car has a new motor and Motec data.
So it's not too late to join in the F2000 fun! If interested give Richard a call ASAP at 704-957-3452.

I think F2000 should headline at Cleveland. The entry list may be bigger that the current entry lists for the four higher OW series combined.
I was on line having fun arguing the Fc Rules section when I said "hey F2000 is quiet, lets stir up some trouble" but I do not know where to start. Could one of you engineer types please take something very serious so i can jump in with something stupid and uninformed to say. Otherwise I will have to go to a different section.
Charles "lets stir some trouble" Finelli
charles'
three options are avaiiable:
1) securities fraud promoting Cole for an Indy Pro Series Ride
2) Ambulance Chasing
3) Getting involved in the piss ant SCCA/F2000 pending litigation engine dispute.
Lets go for securities fraud at least its the more respectable way to make a living!

Jim, Could be fun.
Peter You are Alive, 2 months before we can ALL have some fun. I hope the off season is treating you well.
Charles Finelli
I think what Dan is saying but not so artfully is that he thinks that Elan can save all us racers LOTS of money by creating the same engine for a lot less and thereby exposing the Gouging by Sandy and QSR.
Thanks Dan
Let us know how much we can save and we will applaud your effort
Charles looking for the savings Finelli
CHarles,
Things must be getting pretty boring on Long Island. Might I suggest a message and a bottle of scotch?
AL sr
al, you mean another bottle?
Love you guys, look forward to seeing you all soon.
Charles Finelli
PS Thom Reilly and I toasted both of you guys the other the other nigtht.
Al, I am having so much fun with this it is incredible, F2000, Fun in season and out.
Chas B-Buster Finelli
Would be great to join you guys but... Here is my thinking/reasoning for staying out of the mix for 2008.
Have a Pinto with a now one FULL season tired engine, as felt this being my 2nd year in the car means $$$ better invested on GTP as driving coach/engineer at SCCA events rather than refreshing an Elite Pinto (as either Zetec conversion or newer car with Zetec in future for 2009 if the $$ G-d smiles)
Haul my own car, so long(ish) hauls are ok yet am mentally at odds with driving 12+ hours each way for a 2 day event when there are so many closer events. Yes, want to experience new tracks that are further away... and this could be in the cards for 2009.
Trying to keep costs down and $$$ fee just to be a member hurts my low budget. Even if i did some Formula 2000, i'd probably only do 2 or maybe 3 of the races this year.
The open wheel community has been really great and appreciate everyone's help during 2007 during my newbie season. Was great meeting Mike R., Peter G, Matt at GTP and many others at SCCA events. Am glad to have met a great group of guys at events. My laps times are ok (not a Fast Matt fast but not a rolling road block either) and so feel that perhaps another year in the 'minor leagues' will bring me up to speed and shaving off that last second or so.
Feel free to comment on the above. Am i wrong in my thinking? False economy? Please remember, my budget is low and do what i can just to afford the tire budget(!), entry fees, etc. All help is always appreciated.
---------------
PS: Cole M... is it really, ummm... $50k for the F2000 season?
Yes, i realize this is VERY inexpensive compared to the upper ranks and have friends at various race teams where $50k MIGHT only pay for the hotel/food/PR budget of an event or two. My goals are not to be the next Schumacher or Juan Monty or Boris or... just want to grow, learn, and perhaps top out at doing a 24 Daytona run with a team at some point if luck smiles my way.
Enjoy the Track,
Steven
