Keep the race Car shinny side up.
Keep myself on the sunny side of the Sod.
And win the Regional FS title for the 4th. year in a row! 2007 will be a challenge as more cars show up with more horsepower and I have to keep on being the "Energizer Bunny" to earn the points it takes to win.
- Rebody the cars to take advantage of the new rules
- Lose 72 pound of weight (lost 18 since 5 January)
-Finish prep for the race on the Tuesday prior to the race.
- Actually go and do some testing.
Simple and acheivable - with some hard work.
Regards
Riaan
Don't break the car and 1:33 at Mosport. In that order. I, sadly, have no goal that includes actually winning anything, but I'm fine with that
Sub-goals include corner 1 flat, corner two not like a wuss, and get corner 5 right at least once per race weekend...you get a sense of the challenge here, I'm sure!
Oh yeah, stop missing the 3/4 shift on the front straight at Mosport. Not only does it make everybody cringe, it makes me do far more leakdown tests than I ever want to do...

Hopefully race more than once or twice this year.
Build upon existing and new lasting, friendly relationships, cause thats what its all about.
And hopefully win some races.
Finish on the same lap as DaveW at Mid-Ohio this June.
Make at least 8 races this year.
Win at least 1 race in a regional.
Stay out of the gravel traps at MO.

This is a topic that interests me, being new to auto racing. Keep my driver sharp, get my hands on every square inch of the car (at least once per month), and prepare a schedule. Keeping a 21 year old young man sharp and focused is, well, you know... (we've all been 21). I still can't wait to get my hands on the car. The scheduling is the tough part: how much preparation, the budget, race selection.
Brian,
Also make your transmission is up to snuff. I was missing at least one 3/4 shift per weekend, and found there was some internal problems when I had it rebuilt. Oh yeah, goals: to run a lap in the 19's at Summit, get my first pole, and first race win!
Steve
I love Brian's coment about turn 5 at Mosport! If you have ever seen it you would understand his goal!
lost 18 pounds since the first of the year ! ! !
good for you
thanks - eye could use a little more inspiration here
Yeah! I have a love/hate relationship with Mosport. Back when I ran the old AFFA pro FF series we used to run Mosport a lot. Turn 5 (along with turn 2) was really a test of your b**ls. To do 5/5A right you had to go into 5 so fast that it and 5A were all one big decreasing radius trailing-throttle turn. But mess up just a little, and you'd buy the fence on the outside of 5. You really had to trust the car!

2007 goals and/or resolutions? Not to embarass myself on the track....or by making silly postings on this website!....thou I have been veeeeerrrrrryyyyy tempted to bring back from the dead the $3,000 Zetec solution thread a few times...but maybe that one should have a "DO NOT RESITATE" tag put on it....

Win the SARRC in CF
Win the ARRC in CF
Win the VIR Gold Cup in FV (the icing would be to win over the Shadowfax)
Drive in the S2 reunion in May at Road America. (never been there)
[thinking] No can't say that. Nor that, no that's verbotten as well......

First goal would be to attract 20 plus CFC/FC cars to a regional weekend.
Second, beat all 20 plus cars at said regional.
Third, find a job in race promotion, marketing with no degree and self taught skills or lack there of.

- Assist my son in becoming a competent race car driver.
- Break at least one lap record.
- Race at one new track.
- Get enough starts & points for the runoffs.

1. Help Jeff get through his driver's school in his Reynard.
2. Help Corey achieve his first goal by competing in the full Great Lakes Challenge schedule.
3. Prevent Corey from achieving his second goal by finishing ahead of him in the GLC races.
4. Convince Corey that he should lead a GLC trip to the ARRC.
5. Talk Corey into transporting my car in his trailer so I can run the ARRC too.
Steve, I like what you are saying. ARRC is a race that I have wanted to get to for a few years now. With your Reynard in the trailer, that would leave room for one more since C. Guedes will be in England attending school. We will definitely be talking about this trip as the season draws to a close.
Corey Collins
1. Get the Reynard up to the speeds I had in the Crossle
2. Make the season intact
3. Make both Mid Ohio Races
4. Slip my Reynard in the back of Corey's trailer and run the ARRC for 2007

Get my dad to run a few races in FC so I can go wheel to wheel with him, and if he is ahead on the last lap, I would like to hit my dad in '07.
Oh Yeah, and quit being impatient and maybe win the Runoff's this year...
So, Cole,
You are saying I should put your Dad in my car this weekend? $$$
I got to thinking... if he starts running a FC, he'll start hitting me. He used to hit everybody. Back when the 'blue' Swift had front bumpers instead of front wings.
Hell, come to think of it, he is still dangerous in that club ford.
(Sarcasm) Make a small fortune... problem is i stared with a big one
As my first year in a 99/00 Pinto VD FC, finishing a few races without knocking off some corners (or having someone else do it for me). Would like to see below 58 at LRP and around 2:00 at WGI.

I plan to state my '07 intention in another week or so.....but I couldn't let this pass....
Doug - I admire your gusto BUT.......(and I'm not saying you can't win it)....you might want to think smaller - like "not wear the pink hat of shame...again" or "not have to sleep in the same bed with Finelli.....again"
You know.....baby steps - the rest will come in time
2006
2007
Thanks for that advice Matt, I know that would be the obvious way to the front but I don't feel like buying my way into a Championship. I'll do the best I can with my basic whip and let the chips fall where they may. I'm pretty motivated so it should be fun driving the wheels off of it.

Getting to sleep in the same bed as Finelli is another one of my goals for 2007....lol
Finelli likes to come back from the bar falling down drunk at 3am, prance around naked, and then snuggle with Brendan. I'm not sure Brendan is going to share his coveted postion with you Cole.

hey doug, correct me if i'm wrong but like me, you haven't turned a wheel in the series yet right?
as i recall, you spent last year running that "other" series.
now that the "other" series is no longer an option, you seem to want to come into this series and have them change their rules to suit your needs. seems a bit presumptuous on your part.
or am i missing something?

With very little time in the FE, I want to better driving skills, run more tracks and keep the dirty side down.
Any help or advise from fellow FE drivers will be greatly appreciated.
