Depends on whether for autocross or road racing with autocross allowing more comfortable height. I think for autocross over 6' works. Remove the fiberglass "seat" (2 bolts) and make sure the pedal pads are all the way forward. At 5'7" I had to make pedal extensions and a seat insert.

If should clearance is an issue the common solution for these cars and Swift DB1's is to move the forward roll hoop brace tubes so they connect higher on the front hoop.

    Thanks for the interest.

Bump. Car is "autocross ready" now. Add gas and put the best set of wheels/tires on and have fun.

FYI: I have decided to offer the spare engine separately from the "package" at the beginning of this ad.

$1000 asking price for the engine not including shipping from Raleigh, NC.

This engine block is stamped with Loyning 88F05. The head is Loyning 88F04. I have not located the Butler stamp in either of the locations Rollin normally uses (the Loyning number is in Butler's normal location). Therefore the only indication that I've found so far that Butler worked on the engine is a decal on the black painted valve cover.

Additional Kent engine. Spare engine in unknown condition but seller in 1991 represented it as running but needing refreshing. Engine includes oil and water pumps plus "stock" type flywheel.

No pan/sump, distributor, or intake manifold included at this price but an Ivey intake, apparently race prepared Bosch distributor, and/or a 1985 VD RF85 cast pan are included with the spare parts package.

Engine has been stored indoors since 1991 in the metal frame shown in the picture.

Asking prices (pick up in Raleigh, NC):

    Spare engine only: $1,000.

Car, spare parts, spare engine, and trailer "package": $15,000.

Car, spare parts, and trailer "package": $14,000.

Car, spare parts, and spare engine "package" $14,000.

Note: I have a very interested potential buyer for the trailer if it is available after the car sells.

    Thanks!

    Dick

Car, parts, and engine are sold and may show up at a local autocross within a day's drive (not in NC) of Raleigh as soon as tomorrow!

Hopefully the new owner will enjoy it as least as much as we have during the 23 years we owned it. Learned a LOT (much through ApexSpeed and Formula Ford Underground) and had a lot of good times with it. Everybody, even just autocrossers, "should" own and drive and work on a formula car . . . maybe not the same one for 23 years but at least "for awhile".

The trailer may be sold. Next on the block will our Class B RV that has been seen at autocrosses since 1992.

Car sold through another forum BUT the buyer is now an ApexSpeed member.

    Thanks again!

The trailer is now sold to a "new to FF" racer in SC who recently purchased a FF through ApexSpeed.

The car and all parts are also sold.

    Thanks ApexSpeed!

Congratulations Dick. You must have wiped a tear as you watched it go, eh?

Yes. Moving on to a simpler approach to autocrossing due to becoming "still healthy but not so young anymore" only beats the alternatives.
