Seems that this airline work isn't as lucrative as it used to be.

As to the car being fast, I think it's a lot faster than the current driver!!

    Default Driver Size

I noticed the roll bar width, I may have a buyer depending on the drivers height and approximate weight.

There's plenty of room in there for the larger driver. It's way bigger than an Adams FV or the Skip Barber Mondiales.

Glad you have found the site useful. Since people have been helping me pay for the webspace by buying the shirts and license plate frames and books I'll keep it going (BTW, there are non-Reynard specific shirts there too http://www.cafepress.com/carbonsquid/328449) If all goes well I hope to be racing again soon.

I have some more info to add regarding brakes and I have some great pictures to post once I get the gallery code working the way I want.

Once I don't have the car to learn from I'll be depending on you guys to feed me information to post, so keep racing and learning.

    Default Radiators

I also have a 84 Reynard CFC. I race Waterford Hills in Michigan. I saw your post for your car being for sale on the ApexSpeed Formula car website. I saw on you post that you upgraded you radiators with a re-core job. I was curious what you did for the rediators and who you used to do it. My 84 Reynard has got some radiators that are not that great and of course they always have trouble keeping the engine cool and the temps down. Can you tell me whose radiators you used and give me some details? I assume you have to pull the side pods off and take out the old ones measure them all up and get some custom ones made to fit properly. Any help you can provide would be much appreciated.

I also saw the http://www.cafepress.com/carbonsquid/328449. Is there an official Reynard website with techie information?

    Regards,

    Terry

    Default Reynard Radiators

    Terry
The 84 I just picked up has Van Dieman Radiators, it doesnt appear the pods were altered to fit them. So it appears there are more options out there for you.

If you need, I will measure them. let me know

For the radiators I just took the old ones to a local radiator shop and they took the end caps off the old ones and put new cores in them. I think the total with tax was $160. The new ones, like the old ones are heavy, but I wasn't building a National car so I wasn't too worried about that. The car did run a lot cooler with the new ones.

I also went to Home Depot and got some galvanized 3/8" wire mesh, painted it black and put it between the radiator and the side pod to help protect it.

The sidepods were orignally riveted on. When I rebuilt the car I added nut clips where I could and I can get a sidepod off in about 10-15 minutes.

Got a great new job outside of aviation and have 20 years of stuff to move to a different part of my brain as I learn all about fiber optics, so updates to the site have been put on the back burner. I hope those of you that visit the site find the info that is there useful.
