    Default Van Diemen RF75

    SOLD.

For sale is my 1975 Van Diemen chassis# RF75-011. The car was the subject of a complete frame up rebuild in 2021. The frame was repaired as needed, stripped and powder coated. A new .090 Aluminum floor was installed and new aluminum panels were also fitted. All of the suspension items were refinished in bright nickel, clear zinc or powder coated. A new custom 5 gal. Pyrotect fuel cell, new WOSP starter, new FIA rain light and new gauges were installed. The 6 point Sabelt belts are good through 2026. The brakes have been completely rebuilt including yellow zinc plating of the calipers.

The engine has 5 race weekends since it was refreshed with Ivey pistons, new Ivey carb. and an Ivey rebuilt head. The car has a Rhino cased Hewland MK9 gearbox with an annular slave cylinder and four gear sets suitable for many tracks on the East Coast. The dampers are steel bodied Koni shocks (double adjustable fronts and single adjustable rears).

Bodywork is new, lightweight Lotus 69 bodywork finished in light blue single stage paint. During the rebuilding process there was no new 1975 Van Diemen body work available. As the early Van Diemen’s (73-76) were a copy of the Lotus 69 chassis (being built on the same jigs using round rather than square tubing) the decision was made to install new Lotus body work rather than try to cobble together used bodywork for the car. As one would expect the Lotus bodywork fits the Van Diemen perfectly and in my opinion is far more appealing than the original Van Diemen bodywork.

To complete the look, the car also has period graphics (removable) and a new set of reproduction Lotus alloy wheels with good set of treaded Hoosier Vintage Formula Ford tires with plenty of tread life in them.[/COLOR]

This race winning car has been completely rebuilt from the ground up and maintained to a high standard. The car looks and drives wonderfully. Add your transponder/numbers and it is ready to race. It can be delivered free of charge to any of the remaining 2024 FFCS races. Some misc. spares and a VRG Logbook are included. The asking price is $23,000 USD.

    Default 1975 Van Diemen

I've raced against this car many times. It is beautifully prepared and seriously fast. If your looking for a "ready to race" competitive Club Ford, this is it. A steal at this price.

For me, the Lotus 69 (and its various lookalikes) is the prettiest racecar of all time.

I know this to be a well sorted and fast car. You could do a lot worse and for the money a great buy.
