Anyway, after all the time and effort I (and, frankly, previous owner) put into it, I'm listing it for sale. I had issue-free weekends at Autobahn, several times at Pitt Race, and Mid-Ohio. Got a P5 at Mid-Ohio in my 2nd ever race weekend, getting the CCS hard charger award for that weekend. Helps to qualify low, lol. Keeps up with the pack in a straight line, needs a faster driver for the twisty bits!!
I bought the car for 12k with a blown motor. Well, it blew the first time I started it, crankshaft pins sheared. Al Varacins took this motor and another motor I had and assembled the one that's in the car right now. To be clear, this isn't a "Varacins motor" and isn't being sold as such, but Al did assemble it, dyno it, and I've ran it 4 weekends with no problems to speak of.
I sanded down all bodywork, reinforced thinner areas/cracks with cloth/resin, and applied white paint with red vinyl. I also painted the inside of the body white, because the prior red paint was rubbing off on my white suit. Don't get a white racing suit. IMO the prettiest of all modern Formula Vees. I'm 180lbs and a little over 6' tall and fit pretty well.
