I'm putting a 1600 single port in the 82 Zink I've been trying to sell. It seems the carb has be installed backwards to clear the roll bar brace. Before I do a bunch of fabrication, am I missing something?

Probably not legal, but a Weber DFV is a mirror to the DGV

I'm just making it run, I don't care about legal. It just seems weird that the carb would face backwards.
I'm using the Solex 28 that came with the car, if it's facing backwards, and the cable connects like stock, it has to pull towards the front of the car. The cable will have to go 360 degrees to be in the right place.
I'm just wondering if there is supposed to be a bellcrank or something.

Lots of vees have 28 carb mounted backwards. It is supposed to prevent fuel from dumping into bowl
I have been told it helps stop the bogging off corners and under braking.
The linkage is a bit more involved.
Oops!!!! My mistake!! I thought this was a Zink 16 Formula Ford!! I guess I need more coffee!

For clarification, the carb in STOCK orientation with the bowl to the rear, the cable comes from the rear- many times through a fan shroud.
If the carb is reversed with the bowl to the front, then a pulley system may have been used to pull the cable up the firewall and to the carb.
Throttle shaft fittings can be reversed, moved from side to side, or modified to suite your application.
Hope that helps

Thanks for the replies. It's all done now.
NO!
Nothing to be proud of.
It was supposed to have been driving with this carb, but I had to make tabs for a return spring, clearance the no longer used choke area, make a bracket that bolted to the carb studs; so there would be something to attach the cable to. Made a new throttle stop adjuster.
