    Default Girling copper o-rings

While rebuilding my Girling master cylinders, I want to replace all the copper o-rings on the banjo bolts as well.

After visiting several auto parts supply shops I cannot find o-rings which are as thin as the originals, I can only find thick o-rings.

Will there be any difference if I simply install the thicker o-rings? See the picture for reference

I think the actual name is sealing or crush washer. I don't think functionally there will be much difference in thickness. I've encountered many different thicknesses as well over the years.

I have worked on some cars where the banjo bolt was a shorter style and therefor adding thickness to the washers would decrease the thread engagement below acceptable 1.5x diameter. So maybe check that if it is not obvious.

Places like pegasus, mcmaster and other hardware retailers will specify the thickness of their washers to help you know what to buy. I've bought bags of these things from Jegs, Summit, etc and although there is nothing functionally wrong with them I'm don't' know the thickness until they show up.

Pegasus has the appropriate thickness crush washers. I'm pretty sure you'll find what you need here:

    Default Anneal and reuse

I just anneal and reuse the crush washer when needed. Heat red hot with propane torch, let cool, and go. Just my $0.02.
